State-Level Seminar on “Environmental Science in the Indian Knowledge Tradition”

JAJPUR : A state-level seminar on “Environmental Science in the Indian Knowledge Tradition” was successfully organized at Kharasrota Mahavidyalaya, Singhpur, one of the leading educational institutions in Jajpur district.

The programme, aimed at promoting the integration of education, research, and environmental awareness, received wide appreciation from the academic community.

The seminar was presided over by the Principal of the college, Dr. Braja Kishore Sahu. Prof. Prafulla Kumar Mohanty, former Vice-Chancellor of Khalikote University and former Professor of Utkal University, attended as the Chief Guest. Dr. Debashish Mohapatra, Assistant Professor of Zoology at KIIS University, Bhubaneswar, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour, while Dr. Gouri Shankar Juga Prakash Jena, Head of the Department of Zoology, Government College, Angul, delivered the keynote address.

The seminar was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Kharasrota College. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Arun Kumar Samal, Dr. Gayatri Dhal, Vaibhav Nayak, Rupali Maharana, and Dr. Deepti Ranjan Senapati. Lecturer Purna Chandra Samal introduced the guests and efficiently conducted the proceedings.

Nearly ten colleges participated in the state-level seminar, with a large number of faculty members presenting their research papers.

The speakers elaborated on the significance of environmental conservation in the Indian Knowledge Tradition, its relevance in the present day, and its contribution to society.

Faculty members Bijaya Pati, Meena Ketan Tripathy, Subash Sahu, Surendra Samal, Gagan Behera, Debabrata Dhal, Chitta Ranjan Sahu, Jaladhara Sahu, Rajat Sahu, Bibeka Meher, Sarat Raul, Jogendra Sutar, Rosalin Kuanr, Jyotiprabha Mohanty, Arpita Swain, and Suchismita Nayak actively contributed to the successful organization of the event.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Rupali Mahapatra.
