Ganjam Collector Joins Cleaning Drive with Broom and Spade

Chhatrapur, September 8, 2026: As part of the ‘Ama Ganjam, Swachh Ganjam’ campaign, mass cleaning drives are being organised every Tuesday across Ganjam district. As part of the initiative, a mass cleaning programme was held today in the Aryapalli area under Chhatrapur Municipality.

Ganjam Collector V. Keerthi Vasan, along with administrative officials, municipal and block employees, sanitation workers and local residents, actively participated in the cleanliness drive.

The Collector himself joined the cleaning activity, holding a broom and spade, and encouraged people to participate collectively in cleanliness activities and keep their surroundings clean.

The cleaning drive was carried out at various locations, including cyclone shelters, school premises, areas in front of the panchayat office, roads and other public places. Participants also took a cleanliness pledge to keep their homes and surroundings clean and to create awareness among others about the importance of sanitation.

Chhatrapur BDO Sambit Sangramjit Sahu, BPM Manini Jena, along with a large number of sanitation workers, women, block and municipal employees and local residents, participated in the programme.

The initiative aimed at keeping the Aryapalli area clean and beautiful through collective efforts while making cleanliness an integral part of daily life. The campaign also sought to promote public awareness and a sense of collective responsibility towards maintaining a clean environment.
