Revamping railway stations in Waltair division under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme

Rayagada, August 7: Fifteen Stations in Waltair Division have been identified to be taken up under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is as under :- Vizianagaram Jn, Srikakulam Road, Duvvada, Bobbili Jn, Jagdalpur, Simhachalam, Parvatipuram, Chipurupalli, Jeypore, Naupada Jn,  Damanjodi, Araku, Koraput, Kottavalasa, Paralakhemundi.

In the first phase, works for some Major Stations have already been started. Now, 3 Railway Stations have been selected for the redevelopment in Amrit Bharat Scheme. These Stations are Vizianagaram, Duvvada and Damanjodi Stations. Railways will spend about Rs 26.31 crores for Duvvada, Rs 35.16 crores for Vizianagaram and Rs 13.93 crores for the Damanjodi station developmental activities under this Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

Various competitions among the school children were conducted by the Waltair Division. Competitions like Drawing, Essay writing, Elocution on the Amrit Bharat and development of India after independence was organized in more than 25 schools across the Division in these three station locations. More than 825 students took part in the competitions and 162 children (54 at each station) were felicitated with certificates and mementoes by the guests of the occasion.
