Two minor school girls drown in pond in Rayagada’s Kalyansinghpur

Rayagada, October 7:In a tragic and heartbreaking mishap, two minor schoolgirls drowned while bathing in a village pond at Shantinagar under Kalyansinghpur block.
The deceased minors have been identified as Nilu Kadraka and Kami Kiaka of Bada Nayakuda village under Pujariguda panchayat.
According to reports, one of girls was in Class-VII & the other was in Class-IX. Sources revealed that the two girls had gone to take a bath in the village pond. While bathing, they slipped into deep water and drowned.
Upon noticing the tragedy, local villagers rushed to the spot, brought them out of the water, and shifted them back to their village. On receiving information, Kalyansinghpur police reached the spot and initiated a preliminary investigation into the unnatural death.
A pall of gloom descended on the entire village and surrounding areas following the untimely demise of the two schoolgirls.
