World Safety Day Celebrated in RSP (SAIL)

ROURKELA: Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), SAIL, Rourkela has observed the World Safety Day in RSP meeting Hall.  A brain storming session was conducted on 28th April where a Seminar was on ‘Confined Space Safety’. This seminar was chaired by Debabrata Dutta, CGM In-Charge (Services). He emphasized on how important is conducting this session to increase the safety awareness specific to various confined space jobs taken up by the departments. Ms.Asha Sunil Kartha, GM In charge (Safety) briefed on the precautions to be taken while working in confines spaces to maintain zero accident. There was a technical session which was conducted by Mr. Soutrik Mazumdar, Manager (Safety, Health, and Environment & Quality), East Zone from Messrss Linde India Ltd. This session covers every bit of things on safety along with roles and responsibilities of all concerned in executing a job inside a confined space. Mr. Abakasha Behera, GM (Safety & Engineering) welcomed the gathering and coordinated the programme. To commemorate the occasion several other programmes such as a day-long training on “Hot metal handling Safety” for non-executives employees of Blast Furnace, Steel Melting Shop-I & II, Traffic and raw Material, Foundries and a workshop on “Electrical Safety” and a programme on “Stress Management” were also held. Different programmes and Training were participated by many Executives and non-executive of the plant.
