Sex racket busted by Berhampur Police; two women rescued

On confirmation, the team conducted raid on house and caught women and men in compromising positions.

BERHAMPUR,(26/03/26): As many as 5 persons three men and two women were arrested on Wednesday , acting on reliable information, police conducted a raid at a house in Amarabati Nagar, Bhabinipur area under Nimakhandi Police Station limits.

The operation was carried out in the presence of an Executive Magistrate and independent witnesses to verify reports of illegal immoral trafficking activities. Upon entering the premises, officials found five persons inside, including three men and two women.

 During preliminary inquiry, it was revealed that the accused individuals were allegedly involved in running an illegal sex racket from the rented house for many months.

On confirmation, the team conducted raid on the private house and caught women and men in compromising positions.

 Luxury condoms,  used & unused, . Cigarettes, liquor bottles & Water bottle among others. One M/C Hero Honda Shine bearing Regd. No. OD 07R 5432,  6 mobile phones, . Cash – Rs. 5,000/.were seized from their possession.

They were identified as;

 Ganga Dhara Sahu (31), of village Lochapada Main Road,Near Bhairabi Temple, V Manikanta (24), of village Sompeta House 2, N M Punam Colony PS Sompeta, Srikakulam, Epili Kishore Rao (28), of village Sompeta Manglie House PS Sompeta Dist- Srikakulam,and B Bhagyasree (33), D/O- B Kurtuli of village Bomkei Thakkurani Sahi PS K Nuagaon.

One women victim will be rehabilitated. Other women acted as a pimp, by bringing the other women victim for the same act.

Two pimps , one male and one female , two customers , – total 4 persons arrested.

The women present disclosed that they had been called to participate in the activity in exchange for money from customers.

The house owner was also questioned regarding the use of his property.

 Four accused persons were arrested under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act, 1956. The victims were sent for medical examination.

Further investigation is underway, and strict legal action will be taken against all those found involved in this case.
