Rayagada Autonomous College celebrated Yoga Day on the theme “Yoga for Healthy ageing “

Rayagada, June 21: International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Rayagada Autonomous College campus on Sunday under the theme “Yoga for Healthy ageing” in association with NCC, NSS, YRC, RRC and Yoga Club of the college. The event aimed to promote physical fitness, mental well-being, and a healthy lifestyle through the practice of yoga. Akshya Mishra, Head CSR and Nidhi Prajapati, Asst. CSR Head, Vedanta Group of Companies joined as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively. On this occasion, acclaimed yoga trainers Dr. Saraswati Ray, Principal and G. Padmavati Kar trained the audience on various Asanas and Pranayams.

More than 100 students actively participated in the yoga session conducted by trained instructors.

The participants performed various yoga asanas, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques highlighting the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Saraswati Ray emphasized the significance of yoga in maintaining a healthy body and mind.

he encouraged students to practice yoga regularly to reduce stress, improve concentration, and lead a balanced life.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members alike.
