Bhubaneswar: With President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to visit Mayurbhanj district on June 19 and 20, respectively, the local administration has declared all event venues and function sites as No Drone Zones and No Flying Zones, citing security concerns.

An official order from the Office of the Mayurbhanj Collector has mandated a near-total ban on drone camera usage during the VVIP visit. The prohibition covers media personnel, event management teams and the general public alike. Venue organisers have been directed to put up prominent signboards at all locations marking them as No Drone Zones and the administration has warned of strict action against violators.

The high-profile itinerary spans multiple locations across the district, including Rairangpur, the local airstrip, Pahadpur and Badampahar.

President Murmu will visit her hometown of Rairangpur on June 19, with PM Modi joining her the following day. The visit marks the second anniversary of the BJP government in Odisha under Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, with both leaders expected to jointly inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several development projects before addressing the public.

Among the key highlights: inauguration of a stadium in Rairangpur, developmental works in Pahadpur, the President’s in-laws’ village, flagging off of a new Puri-Koraput train via Sambalpur and unveiling of railway stations upgraded under the Amrit Bharat scheme.
