Man arrested by NIimakhandi, Police,Berhampur

Berhampur;Nimakhandi Police Station has registered Case No. 185/2026 dated 14.06.2026 under Sections 296/115(2)/118(1)/118(2)/109(1)/351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Police said,On 14.06.2026 at about 10:30 PM at Shiva Mandir Sahi, Brahmapalli village under Nimakhandi PS limits, Somanath Behera (40) attacked Simanchal Sethi (56) with a sharp weapon (kati) following a dispute.

Complainant sustained injuries on his left ear and other parts of the body and was shifted to MKCG Medical College & Hospital, Berhampur for treatment.

During investigation, accused Somanath Behera was arrested on 15.06.2026 and forwarded to the Hon’ble Court. The weapon of offence (one kati) has been seized from his possession. Further investigation is under progress.
