Kukudakhandi Violence Case: Prime Accused ‘Bombarding Kalia’ Arrested, Two Juveniles Apprehended

Brahmapur,( 16/09/26):Brahmapur, Sept. 16: Brahmapur Police have arrested the prime accused, identified as Kalia Sahu (24), alias “Bombarding Kalia,” and apprehended two juveniles in connection with the violent incident reported at Bauri Sahi in Kukudakhandi on September 14.

The action follows B. Sadar Police Station Case No. 585/2026, registered in connection with the alleged attack and intimidation in the locality.

According to police, a group of persons allegedly arrived on motorcycles and entered Bauri Sahi carrying swords and bombs. The group allegedly abused local residents, hurled live jute bombs and issued death threats, creating panic in the area.

Following a complaint lodged on September 15, police intensified security measures and have been conducting continuous patrolling in and around the village to prevent any further escalation of tension.

Police said Kalia Sahu, 24, is a habitual offender and has several previous criminal cases registered against him, including cases under the Arms Act, Explosive Substances Act and NDPS Act. He was arrested on September 16 and subsequently forwarded to the court.

Two other accused, aged approximately 16 and 17 years, were apprehended and produced before the Juvenile Justice Board in accordance with law.

Meanwhile, another co-accused, who was reportedly injured after being assaulted by villagers during the incident, is undergoing treatment at MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Brahmapur.

Police said investigation into the case is continuing and efforts are underway to identify and arrest the remaining accused persons. Further action will follow based on the evidence collected during the investigation.
