INCLUSIVE LEARNING HUB INAUGURATED AT DELHI PUBLIC SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL, BRAHMAPUR

Brahmapur,dated 5th September: Delhi Public Senior Secondary School, Brahmapur marked a significant milestone in the field of inclusive education with the inauguration of its Inclusive Learning Hub (ILH), a joint collaborative initiation between Delhi Public Senior Secondary School and Team AGILITY.
The Inclusive Learning Hub was inaugurated on the very pious occasion of Teacher’s Day by Shri Bibhuti Bhusan Jena, Hon’ble Minister for Transport & Commerce and Steel & Mines, Government of Odisha, who attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest. Dr. Prabhas Ranjan Tripathy, Professor and Medical Superintendent, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
The inaugural ceremony was held in the presence of the management members of Delhi Public Senior Secondary School, including Smt. J. Jayalakshmi, Chairperson; Dr. J. Sruti, Director; Dr. Sunil Kumar Kota, Director; and Mr. Baikuntha Nath Pattanayak, Principal. Dr. Prabir Kumar Senapati and Dr Priti Snigdha Panda, Founder directors of Team AGILITY were also present on the occasion.
Hon’ble Minister Sri Bibhuti Bhusan Jena opined that ILH intends to create a nurturing environment and educational ecosystem where every child irrespective of ability, receives the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive with dignity while realizing their potentials. He went on to laud the efforts by DPSSS Berhampur for their maiden effort in South Odisha. Dr Prabhas Ranjan Tripathy said that Society is highly in need of the empathetic ventures catering to needs of children with special needs. He thanked management and staff of DPSSS, Berhampur and Agility, for joining hands for a humane cause and providing such a wonderful opportunity for people in need from South Odisha.
The ILH has been designed as an innovative initiative to promote the academic growth and holistic development of children with special needs and enable them to excel confidently in the mainstream academic sphere through specialised guidance, therapeutic support and inclusive educational practices. The children with special needs (autism, ADHD, developmental delays, speech and hearing difficulties, sensory processing disorders) will be screened thoroughly by psychologist and will be provided special assistance by a team of dedicated Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist and Special educator in the school campus itself with an intent to help them integrate into mainstream.
This is the only school-based center in South Odisha and the second in the entire state that will provide such a platform for children with special needs.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of parents, teachers and staff members of both Delhi Public Senior Secondary School and Team AGILITY.
