Body Of Youth Found Near Liquor  Shop In Ganjam, Murder Suspected

Ganjam:On Friday at about 10 AM, complainant Nityananda Sahu(37), S/O-Late Chatura Sahu, Vill-Pattapur, PS-Pattapur, Dist-Ganjam appeared at Pattapur PS and presented a written report to the effect that on 28.12.2023, at about 07.00 PM, his brother Surya Kumar Sahu, aged about 33 years left the house saying them that he was going to Bus stand. But he did not return to their house.

Hence, the complainant searched for his brother, but could not trace out him. After that, Friday, at about 07.00 AM, he came to know that the dead body of his brother Surya Kumar Sahu is lying near a liquor shop.

 After getting the information, the complainant proceeded to spot and found the dead body of his brother was lying there and saw there were injuries on the face, leg and other parts of his body. Then he suspected that someone has committed murder of his brother. Hence, the complainant reported the matter at PS for taking legal action against the accused.

The police have seized One Iron rod (weapon of offence and the Mobile phone of deceased.

In this connection, basing on the report of complainant Sri Nityananda Sahu, Pattapur PS Case No-832, Dtd.-29.12.2023, U/S-302 IPC has been registered and investigated.

During investigation of the said case, one person namely Prasanta Kumar Swain @ Dungei, S/o-Panchu Swain, Vill-Pattapur, balipentha Sahi, PS-Pattaur, Dist-Ganjam has been arrested  and forwarded to the Hon’ble court. Cause of dispute was the non-repayment of the hand loan of Rs 10,000/- by the deceased to the accused.
