19 Stolen Vehicles Recovered; 17 Motorcycles and Scooters Returned to Owners

Brahmapur, 20/09/2026: In a public programme held at Badabazar Police Station today, 17 stolen motorcycles and scooters were handed over to their rightful owners, bringing relief to the victims who had lost their vehicles.

The Badabazar Police team had recovered a total of 19 stolen vehicles in connection with two registered cases. In these cases, two accused persons were arrested and two juveniles were detained.

The recoveries were made in connection with:

Badabazar P.S. Case No. 682, dated 12.09.2026, initially registered under Sections 331(4)/305(a) BNS, and subseqently converted to Sections 331(4)/305(a)/61(2)/111(2)(a)/111(4)/111(6) BNS.

Badabazar P.S. Case No. 651, dated 28.08.2026, registered under Sections 309(6)/324(4)/296/351(3)/3(5) BNS.

The recovered vehicles were restored to their respective owners at Badabazar Police Station in the presence of the Superintendent of Police, Brahmapur, Additional Superintendents of Police and Deputy Superintendents of Police.

The vehicle owners expressed their relief and gratitude after receiving their motorcycles and scooters back.

The police personnel associated with the detection and recovery operation included Inspector Ashish Kumar Swain, IIC, Badabazar Police Station; SI Sasmita Behera; SI Deepak Das; CI Hav. Bramhanaryan Samantray; C/491 Manoj Kumar Pradhan; OAPF/37 Subash Raita; OAPF/34 Abala Mandal; HG/317 Binod Chandra Das; and HG/163 Sangram Pratap Padhi.

The Superintendent of Police, Brahmapur, appreciated the Badabazar Police team for their efforts in detecting the cases and recovering the stolen vehicles.

Addressing the citizens present at the programme, the SP also highlighted the importance of road safety and traffic discipline. He appealed to motorists to wear helmets, carry valid vehicle documents, maintain lane discipline and strictly obey traffic signals to help prevent road accidents.
