121 Lost Mobiles Traced, 102 Returned to Owners by Brahmapur Cyber Police

Brahmapur, 20/09/2026: In a significant relief to mobile phone users who had reported their devices lost or stolen, the Cyber Police Station, Brahmapur, traced 121 mobile phones and returned 102 of them to their rightful owners organising a public programme at Badabazar Police Station campus on Saturday.
The remaining 19 recovered mobile phones could not be handed over during the programme as the identification and other legal formalities are still pending. Police said the devices will be returned to their rightful owners after completion of the prescribed procedure.
The recovered phones were handed over in the presence of Superintendent of Police, Brahmapur, Additional Superintendents of Police and Deputy Superintendents of Police.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude and relief after receiving back their lost mobile phones.
The recovery and restoration operation was carried out with the active involvement of personnel of Cyber Police Station, Brahmapur, including C/873 Ajit Kumar Gouda, C/238 D. Mantu Babu Dora, C/953 Deepak Kumar Gouda, C/777 Santosh Kumar Jena, C/265 Rajendra Kumar Behera and SI of Communication Sudhakar Behera.
Addressing the gathering, the Superintendent of Police also highlighted the growing threat of cybercrime and urged citizens to remain vigilant while using mobile phones and social media platforms.
People were advised never to share OTPs, PINs, Aadhaar details, banking credentials or other sensitive information with unknown persons.
The public was further advised to verify suspicious links before clicking on them and to immediately report any online financial fraud to the police or through the national cybercrime helpline 1930.
The SP also used the occasion to stress road-safety measures, appealing to citizens to wear helmets, maintain lane discipline and strictly follow traffic signals to reduce the risk of road accidents.
Police have requested persons whose mobile phones have been lost and are yet to be recovered to approach Cyber Police Station, Brahmapur, carrying available purchase documents, IMEI details and valid identity proof. The police will verify the claims and facilitate the return of recovered devices in accordance with the prescribed procedure.
