Voter List Observer Mohammad Sadiq Alam Conducts Super Checking and District-Level Review in Malkangiri

Malkangiri, September 8, 2026:Voter List Observer and Indian Civil Service officer Mohammad Sadiq Alam conducted super checking and a field-level inspection of the ongoing revision of electoral rolls in Malkangiri district on Tuesday.
During his visit, Alam personally reviewed the field-level progress of applications received during the claims and objections period.
He also examined the relevant case records and assessed the status of voter-list revision work across the district.
A district-level review meeting was held under the chairmanship of District Collector and District Magistrate Pratish Arvind Rajeshirke, where Alam reviewed various aspects of the electoral-roll revision process..
Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Somnath Pradhan, Additional District Magistrate (Revenue) Vedabavar Pradhan, and Deputy District Magistrate (Dum) Duryodhan Bhoi attended the meeting and presented detailed information on the processing of applications in different Assembly constituencies of the district.
During the review, Alam emphasized that preparing a complete, accurate and comprehensive electoral roll is essential for strengthening democracy. He directed officials to ensure administrative transparency and diligence so that no eligible citizen, particularly young and first-time voters, is deprived of the opportunity to register their names.
He further instructed officials to ensure that all claims and objections are examined and disposed of strictly in accordance with the prescribed legal procedures.
During his visit, Alam also met representatives of various recognized political parties in the district and sought their feedback regarding the accuracy and integrity of the electoral rolls.
He separately interacted with new voters to understand their experience with the voter-registration process, including the facilities available to them and any difficulties they may have encountered.
Later, at a meeting with all Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) of the district, Alam issued instructions on the timely processing and disposal of Form-6 applications for new voter registration, Form-7 applications for deletion of names, and Form-8 applications for correction or transfer.
He also stressed the proper maintenance of case records and directed officials to take decisions within the prescribed timelines
The review was aimed at ensuring that the ongoing electoral-roll revision process in Malkangiri remains accurate, transparent, inclusive and compliant with the prescribed procedures.
