Brahmapur: Prof. Dr. Radhasyam Panda Remembered.

Prof. Dr. Radhasyam Panda (2nd September 1950 – 23rd August 2026), former Regional Director, Higher  Education, Reader in Chemistry, Khallikote College, Berhampur passed away on 23rd August 2026, at Texas, U.S.A. He was an eminent Researcher and Professor in Chemistry  Passes Away at 76 years.

Dr. Radhasyam Panda, a highly revered academician, exceptional chemistry professor, a distinguished educator under the State Department of Higher Education, Odisha, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 23, 2026. Born on September 2nd, 1950, Dr. Panda dedicated decades of his life to advancing scientific research, essentially working and strengthening in the field of Organic Reaction Mechanism and reaction kinetics of peroxides. He has an over whelming contribution in his field of research. To his credit he has a good number of publications in Journals of National and International repute. As a teacher he achieved great success in shaping the minds of thousands of students across the region. Known for his profound intellect, generous heart, and gentle spirit, Dr. Panda leaves behind a monumental legacy in the field of chemical sciences. Over his illustrious career spanning several decades in the State Department of Higher Education, he served as a professor and mentor at several premier institutions, including Khallikote College, Berhampur University and visited almost all the premier institutes involved in fundamental research in Chemistry in the country.

As a passionate researcher, Dr. Panda contributed significantly to the global scientific community, visiting and working with various universities, institutes and the industry. He had collaborated his research work with premier industries like National Aluminium Company (NALCO) and have several publications and supervised a few Ph.D students in the field. He possessed extensive research experience in core and applied chemistry, culminating in numerous excellent publications in highly esteemed Chemistry journals of both National and International repute. Under his dedicated mentorship and guidance, multiple scholars successfully produced breakthrough doctoral research, earning their Ph.D. degrees. His academic pursuits and scientific collaborations also took him across the globe, having visited countries such as the United States and Germany for international conferences and research delegations.

Dr. Panda is survived by his wife, Smt. Minakshi Panda, his three children, and their loving families, along with a vast community of grieving students, colleagues, and relatives. The family prays that Lord Jagannath grants his noble soul eternal peace. The funeral services and last rites for the departed soul were solemnly performed by family members in Texas USA. With profound sorrow, the children of Prof.Panda announced the passing of their beloved father, Prof. Dr. Radhasyam Panda.
