Factually police I-Con pinpointed during investigation because of on the same day the prime suspect, Dipuna Nahak , was apprehended following a police encounter.
The victim, Shyam Behera, was assaulted and critically injured after being pushed off the high Berhampur-Gopalpur over bridge following an altercation with a group of miscreants.
In connection with Gopalpur PS Case No.270 dated 16.05.2026 U/S 309(6)/109(2)/3(5) BNS, Gopalpur police has arrested the following accused persons today i.e. on 20.05.2026
1. Babu @ Babulu @ Suman Nayak @ Naik (26 yrs)
2. Goutam @ S. Goutam Rao (20 yrs)
3. One CICL
Police said on 16.05.2026 around 6:00 AM near Gopalpur over bridge , Berhampur, accused persons assaulted Shyam Behera and his friend Abhijit Kandi due to previous enmity.
They forcibly snatched their mobile phones and cash amount (not sure. )Tried to get in touch with IIC babu of Gopalpur but the phone was not responded(!)against DGP Order at least( “ adat se Mazboor’ keeping in view of the City law and order encourage to media they felt not necessary, always media news is FIR public is Priority y the situation is such any day any time, any mishap cannot be predicted much before.(?).

police station , the accused pushed Shyam Behera from the over bridge from a height of nearly 30 feet with intent to kill him.
The victim is critically injured and is undergoing treatment at SUM Hospital, Sitalapalli.
Soon getting the message Berhampur SP rush to accident spot subsequently went to Hospital to see the health condition of the patient discussed with Doctors
During the course of investigation, one Yamaha Scooty and one Apple iPhone 15 have been seized from the accused
All the arrested persons have been produced before the Hon’ble Court today along with seized articles and case diary after observing all legal formalities.
