Informative program on “Stay Alert, Stay Safe: Situational Awareness in Daily Life” organised by Rayagada College

Rayagada, April 29: Shaktishree Empowerment Cell in the Golden jubilee conference hall of Rayagada (Auto.) College conducted an informative program on “Stay Alert, Stay Safe: Situational Awareness in Daily Life”. The program started with the lighting of lamp and floral tributes to the deity. In the program two resource persons namely Gourahari Sahoo, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Rayagada and Badal kumar Tah, President, District Journalist Association, Social Worker, Rayagada, were welcomed by the Dr. Saraswati Ray, Principal, Rayagada (Auto.) College by offering two beautiful flower plants and felicitating them.
The Shaktishree Sanjojika Dr. Liza Rani Satapathy gave introductory Speech highlighting about the Shaktishree Empowerment Cell and the guidelines of the Govt.’s higher education Deptt related to the functioning of the Cell. Then the meeting was presided over by the Principal Dr. Saraswati Ray. Gourahari Sahoo made the program sensitive by showing a video called ‘Kichi haba kii’ highlighting about POCSO, Child Marriage, Sexual harassment at workplace(POSH), good and bad touch by people, and many more aspects relating to different situations and how to take good decisions for own safety. Tah focused on knowledge, skill, attitude & behaviour and action during the program. How to take precautions to stay safety was emphasised by Tah. He also said about requirement of avoiding show-off behaviours before peers & movement in dark and isolated places, need of supporting each other, taking care of our foods or drinks in crowded places like parties, staying aware of our other basic commonly used accessories, etc.
In the program Dr. Saraswati Ray, Lt. Uday Nayak, Dr.Ajay Raita and Dr. Liza Rani Satapathy also shared important messages related to commuting in bus/train safety, street safety, classroom safety and different situations. The situational awareness program was conducted successfully with a number of faculty members present namely Hemant sir, Sagarika madam, Abhimanyu sir, Mirza madam, Pratima madam and many others. The Saktishree saathi Radharani, volunteers such as Bishnupriya, Gitanjali, Barsha and their teams also worked sincerely to make the program successful. Around 120 participants actively enjoyed the program. The event culminated with a message: ” Be Aware – Stay Alert – Take Action”.
