STOP VIOLENCE – OVER 150 MIGRANTS STAGE PROTEST IN GANJAM (?).

Ganjam,(Kabisuryanagar): Over 150 migrant returnees stage protest in front of the Kabisuryanagar block office alleging lack of basic facilities and irregularities at a quarantine centre in Bhetsingi village under Sunarijhola panchayat of Ganjam district. They express their displeasure over facilities being provided by the Sunarijhola Sarpanch, the inmates of the quarantine centre approached the Sarpanch.

According to our field report the Migrant workers came by a hired vehicle with their own arrangement which the district administration do not have any information as they have not enlisted their names as per the guideline.

In this regard while discussed with IIC,Kabisuryanagar Mr Prabhat Sahu, he siad, on Monady at evening hours accidently they arrived at Bhetasingi Village and we do not aware of their arrival.

Subsequentely when we officialy verifed with the  district office its ascertain all of them have not registered as per the norms.

However, their grievances were addressed and the concern Sarapanch tried to accomodate them in nearby quarantine centre and managed by arranging a local vehicle and all they shifted.

Incidentally all they sought and alleged for their basic need and quality food as a result the situation turned into embrassing for the BDO and Panchayat Officer even to Police.

Aggrevied migrants without finding no oher options left from quanatine cetre and stage protest before the Block Office which absolutely illegal Sahu added.

At last the Police officers of Kabisurya Nagar, BDO and concern Sarapanch managed to convience them and kept properly at Quarantine center.
