Berhampur, April: TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) has strengthened power infrastructure in Rayagada. This has been achieved with the successful Construction & commissioning of a new 33KV feeder line from Rayagada Railway Gate (near Shiv Mandir) to Raniguda Primary Substation (PSS). The new feeder line is expected to enhance power reliability and support the growing electricity demand in the area.

The newly constructed feeder comprises 6 CKM overhead line along with 110 meters of underground cable. The line originates from Rayagada Railway Gate. It terminates at Raniguda PSS, ensuring a stable and reliable 33KV source supply to the substation.

From Raniguda PSS, power is distributed through two outgoing 11KV feeders—Chekaguda and Raniguda. The Chekaguda feeder supplies electricity to Chekaguda and Vidya Nagar areas while also supporting the Town-3 feeder. Similarly, the Raniguda feeder supplies power to Raniguda Farm, Goutham Nagar, Hathipattar Road and supports the Town-4 feeder. Earlier, Town-3 and Town-4 feeders were primarily catering to most parts of Rayagada Town No-2 section. With the commissioning of the new feeder, power supply stability and reliability across all four feeders are improved significantly.

The project benefits around 8,000 consumers by ensuring improved voltage stability, reducing load stress on existing feeders, and providing more reliable electricity supply to households, commercial establishments, and essential services in the region.

Speaking on the development, TPSODL CEO Mr. Amit Kumar Garg said, “Strengthening power infrastructure is central to our commitment to deliver reliable and quality electricity to our consumers. The commissioning of this new 33KV feeder in Rayagada will enhance supply stability, reduce load on existing networks, and significantly improve service reliability for thousands of consumers in the area.”This initiative marks another important step by TPSODL towards enhancing power distribution reliability and supporting the growing energy needs of Rayagada town and surrounding areas
