Three Arrested for Brutal Assault on ITI Students Inside Government ITI Campus

Brahmapur, 06/10/2026: Brahmapur Police have arrested three persons in connection with the alleged trespass into the Government ITI College campus here and assault on two first-year students on October 5.

According to police, the incident took place between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM near the New Boys’ Hostel of Government ITI College, Brahmapur. The complainant and his classmate, both first-year Fitter Trade students, were allegedly intercepted, abused and assaulted by the accused.

Police said the two students attempted to escape towards the Principal’s Office, but the accused allegedly returned along with their associates and launched a second attack.

During the assault, the complainant was allegedly struck on the head with an iron punch and sustained a severe bleeding injury. The two students were also allegedly kicked and punched after they fell to the ground and were threatened with dire consequences.

College staff and teachers intervened and alerted the police through the emergency helpline 112. The injured students were subsequently shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Brahmapur, for treatment.

Police Launch Swift Investigation

Following receipt of the complaint at around 10:40 PM on October 5, Baidyanathpur Police registered a case and began investigating the incident. CCTV footage from the college campus was examined to identify the persons allegedly involved in the assault.

In a late-night operation, police traced the prime accused to Khodasingh and apprehended him at around 3:00 AM on October 6. Based on information obtained during interrogation, police subsequently conducted a raid in the Khodasingh area and apprehended two alleged associates at around 4:30 AM.

Three persons from Brahmapur town have so far been arrested in connection with the case. Police said efforts are continuing to apprehend other persons allegedly involved in the incident.

Case Registered:-Baidyanathpur PS Case No. 514 dated 05.10.2026 has been registered under Sections 296, 115(2), 109(1), 351(2) and 3(5) of the BNS.

Police stated that the arrested persons were medically examined and are being forwarded before the competent court with a prayer for judicial remand. Police also said that all prescribed legal formalities and constitutional safeguards were followed during the arrests.
