TALCHER BLOOD BANK ACHIEVES TARGET BY COLLECTING 4 THOUSAND UNITS BLOOD IN 2019

TALCHER:Talcher Blood Bank, an unit of Orissa Red Cross Blood Bank achieves its target by collecting 4 thousand 41 units of blood in the year 2019, counting from 1st January to 31st March. The target was imposed to collect minimum 4 thousand units by Orissa Blood Bank. 2 thousand 9 hundred 87 units were collected by arranging 46 voluntary blood donation camps in different places of Angul and Dhenkanal Districts, apart from that 1 thousand 54 units of blood were collected in the campus of Talcher Blood Bank. These collected blood were donated among the needy patients od Talcher, Pallahara sub division, Parjang, Kankadahad block of Dhenkanal dist. and some portions of Angul Block. To create awareness among the common people, several awareness programmes like, rally with placards, street plays and awareness training to the youth Red Cross volunteers on the auspicious day of VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATION DAY in 14th of June and VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONORS DAY in 1st October every year. This target could be possible to  achieve only because of the unconditional help of the near by voluntary organizations, local youth volunteers including the team of Talcher Blood Bank, said Balaram Pati, Angul dist. co-ordinator of Red Cross Society.
