Berhampur,(02/05/26);Two accused in Sudhir Patra Murder Case to be taken on two-day police remand. In the ongoing investigation of the murder of plot businessman Sudhir Patra, two accused, Shubham Nayak and Shubham Gouda, will be taken on a two-day police remand. The JMFC Court has granted permission for the remand.

Total Arrests: A total of nine people have been arrested in connection with the case

Crime Reconstruction: On April 26, 2026, police conducted a detailed reconstruction of the crime scene with key suspects, including Kalu Charan Pradhan, who demonstrated how Sudhir was abducted from a volleyball field and killed.
New Leads: Police are examining allegations that Nibedita’s mother and uncle were also involved in the conspiracy, following accusations by the deceased’s wife.
Evidence: Authorities are reviewing an audio recording where the accused allegedly admitted to being paid Rs..50 lakh for the murder.
The police are currently conducting route tracking of the abduction path .
Post-mortem at MKCG Berhampur confirmed plot dealer Sudhir Patra was brutally beaten to death with blows to head and rib cage; no gunshot wounds found.
According to the findings of the Forensic Medicine and Toxicology department from MKCG Medical College and Hospital, the victim sustained severe injuries to the head and rib cage, leading to death. No gunshot wounds were found on the body.
