Singhpur’s Satyajit ,OUAT Student Selected for Indian Tennis Volleyball Team

 Jajpur:Satyajit Sahu (21), a young sportsperson from Singhpur village under Binjharpur block of Jajpur district, has become a matter of pride for the entire region after being selected for the Indian Tennis Volleyball Team in the 11th South Asian Games held in Kathmandu, Nepal, from the 19th to 23rd.

Among only three players selected from Odisha for the Indian squad, Satyajit’s achievement has brought joy not only to Singhpur village but also to the entire Binjharpur area. India secured the gold medal in the tournament by defeating Pakistan in the final.

Satyajit is the son of Dhirendra Kumar Sahu and Manasi Sahu of Singhpur village. From an early age, he displayed extraordinary interest in sports. Through hard work, dedication, and strong determination, he has established his own identity at the national level.

Currently, Satyajit is a first-year student at Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT). Over the past two years, he has delivered impressive performances representing the Odisha team. His talent, unwavering commitment, and focus on his goals have earned him a place in the Indian team.

Following this remarkable success, a wave of happiness has spread across Singhpur village. Villagers, friends, youth, and sports lovers have congratulated him and expressed hope that he will achieve even greater success for the country in the future.

The emergence of such a national-level talent from a rural area has also become a source of inspiration for many young people in the region.

On this occasion, Singhpur’s young Sarpanch, Shashanka Shekhar Khilar, visited Satyajit’s residence and personally congratulated him. He stated that the success of rural youth at national and international levels is a matter of great pride for the entire region. He added that such achievements inspire the younger generation to move forward in sports and fulfill their dreams.

During the event, Malaya  Thatoi, Amarendra Jena, Kahna Sourabh, Subash Sahu, and others from Singhpur village were also present to congratulate Satyajit. They wished him a bright sporting career and expressed confidence that he would bring more laurels to the state and the nation in the future.
