Semiliguda Bar Association Celebrates Birth Anniversary of the Madhusudan Das

Koraput,(Semiliguda):Members of the Semiliguda Bar Association today observed birth anniversary of the state’s first barrister, Madhusudan Das, who is also known as the maker of modern Odisha.
They also celebrated Lawyers’ Day 2023 on the premises of the Civil Judge(Jr. Division ) cum JMFC, Semiligudacourt here.
On this occasion, the Bar Association felicitated its senior-most members.
Adv. Santosh Dash, President, (Semiliguda Bar Association) narrated Das’s life story and highlighted some important aspects of the leader, who used to always fight for the Odias and Odisha.His birthday is celebrated as the Lawyers’ Day across odisha on 28 April. He founded Utkal Sammilani in 1903 to campaign for the unification of Odisha along with its social and industrial development. Former Prime Minister of England, Sir Ramsay Madonald has referred to Madhu Babu as the Uncrowned King of Odisha.
Mrs.Sharmistha Jena, Civil Judge(Jr. Division ) cum JMFC, Semiliguda. Court also spoke about Das’s role as a lawyer and urged the law practitioners to be motivated by his ideals and work for the people, who really need their help.
“Madhu babu was a great law practitioner, and the lawyers of this generation must learn a great deal from him,” said Ms.Ritika Garg, Magistrate (Gramnayala court ) Semiliguda of koraput.
Besides, Koraput Bar Associations, state government officials and ministers garlanded Das’s statues at various places across the city to observe his birth anniversary.

Program presided by Treasurer Adv. Dilip kumar Mahapatro of Bar Association & Vote of Thanks by Adv. Rajesh Behera. Patriotic Song sang by Advocates Spouses during Program in which Adv. Daya kuldip played Flute & musicians to support little talents.
