Bhubaneswar: Schools and anganwadi centres across Odisha’s Khordha district will remain closed from April 20 to April 23 as authorities respond to intensifying heat wave conditions in the region.
The district administration issued the order as a precautionary measure to safeguard students from heat-related illnesses amid rising temperatures.
The directive, released by the District Collector, applies to all government and private educational institutions, including anganwadi centres.
Officials said the decision was taken keeping in view the safety and well-being of children, who are particularly vulnerable to extreme weather conditions.
The temporary closure aims to minimise exposure during peak daytime heat.
The move comes as several parts of Odisha continue to reel under severe heat, prompting local administrations to adopt preventive measures.
