Rayagada, October 1: In a bid to promote ecological sustainability and expand green cover, the State Bank of India (Local Head Office, Bhubaneswar) organized a large-scale plantation drive at the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama campus in Hatamuniguda.

Organized under SBI’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) wing as part of the “Integrated Fruit Bearing and Avenue Plantation Programme,” the initiative saw the planting of 1,000 saplings comprising diverse fruit-bearing and avenue tree varieties. The environmental project was executed on the ground in collaboration with the Mahashakti Foundation.

The ceremonial drive was inaugurated by Swami Gitatmanandaji Maharaj, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, who planted the inaugural sapling and underscored the spiritual and ecological necessity of nurturing nature.

The event was attended by Jugal Kishore Pattanayak, Managing Director of Mahashakti Foundation and Mahendra Kumar Sabar, Branch Manager of SBI Muniguda. Ashrama monastic members, foundation officials, staff members, and students actively took part in planting the saplings across designated plots on the ashrama grounds.
