Rayagada scribes celebrate Raksha Bandhan with distressed women in SNEH Swadhar Home

Rayagada, August 28: There is only one Swadhar Gruha named SNEH Shakti Sadan- a short stay home for survivor girls & women of domestic violence and family discord in Raygada. Emotional and psychological counseling are provided to help these deserted, trafficked, abused destitute, or abandoned women without financial support to overcome trauma and distress. This is a centrally sponsored welfare scheme implemented by the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), Government of India.
Rakshaya Bandhan was lucidly celebrated at SNEH Shakti Sadan by all the women inmates and supervisors in the presence of senior journalists namely Badal kumar Tah & Ajaya Kumar Rath as guests. Rakhis were tied to both these scribes by the inmates. They spoke on the significance and values of the festival. The session highlighted the importance of love, care, respect, protection and strong family relationship.
The also emphasized about the duties of the inmates. According to them, if the duties are observed sincerely, rights are automatically fulfilled. Ample of cases are enshrined in Hindu scriptures. The survivors participated in the discussion and learned about celebrating Rakshya Bandhan with joy and enthusiasm.
In the second session, the celebration included tying of Rakhi, sharing of sweets and wishes among the survivours and staff. This was facilitated by the Prajapita Brahmakumaris, Rayagada Branch.
The event created a warm and happy atmosphere, spreading the message of togetherness, mutual respect and kindness.
