Rayagada Sai Priya Walkers’ Club organises blood donation camp

Rayagada, October 31: A mega blood donation camp was organized by Saipriya Walkers Club at  Urban Health and Wellness Centre situated at Sai Priya Nagar, Rayagada. It was inaugurated by Shri Mahesh Patnaik, Chairman of Rayagada Municipality. C.R.P F. DIG Shri Vijay Shah was the guest of honour on this occasion.

D.I.G., CRPF Jawans and members of Saipriya Walkers Club alongwith Saipriya Ladies Walkers Club donated blood. More than 50 units of blood were collected during the day long camp. Many of women and men were screened for diabetes and blood pressure in this camp. The camp was technically moderated by Dr. Mohammad Majeed, Blood Bank Officer, Dr. Sagarika Jena,M.O., Dr. Suresh Kumar, Dr. V. L. N. Raju, DPHO, who also examined the health of the people. Saipriya Walkers Club President Wr Subash Behera, Secretary Wr Sannyasi Panigrahi, Treasurer Walker K Dharma Raju jointly facilitated the camp while Saipriya Ladies Walkers Club President Wr P Rama Devi, Secretary. Wr K Aruna, Wr K. Ashwini complemented the effort.

Walker Abhimanyu Naik of Rayagada Walkers Club, Advisor of GCD Walkers Club Surendra Sahu, Secretary Walker Deepak were present at the camp. The prime donors of this initiative were Wr L Lata Chandra Mouli, Wr K Ashwini Ramesh, Wr S Anuradha Appal Raju, Wr Devaraj Panda, Wr B K Patra, Wr T N Rao and Wr Satyanarayana.


“Though several blood donation camps are organised in & around Rayagada, it is high time to conduct identification camps of blood related diseases like Thalassaemia, Sickle Cell, Haemophilia, Leukocytosis, etc. This will help strengthening a vibrant referral service in the district”, said Sri Shyam Kumar Dash, Secretary of SAKSHAM, an outfit meant to empower differently abled persons of the district.
