President’s Ganjam Visit: Preparations in Full Swing

Collector Reviews Arrangements, Directs Departments to Ensure Timely Completion of Works
Brahmapur, Dt 01/08/26 : Ahead of the visit of the Hon’ble President of India, Droupadi Murmu, to Ganjam district on August 4 and 5, the district administration has stepped up preparations with a high-level review meeting chaired by Ganjam Collector V. Keerthi Vasan at the conference hall of the Sub-Collector’s Office, Berhampur.
Reviewing arrangements from the President’s arrival at Berhampur Railway Station to her departure, the Collector said the visit is a matter of pride and honour for the people of Ganjam and the district administration. He directed all departments to complete their assigned responsibilities on a war footing and informed that a full-scale rehearsal will be conducted shortly.
The Collector stressed cleanliness along the entire route, removal of roadside encroachments, temporary shifting of vending stalls and sought public cooperation for the smooth conduct of the visit.
Brahmapur Superintendent of Police Dr. Saravana Vivek M. and Ganjam Superintendent of Police Harish B.C. informed that elaborate security arrangements have been made in view of the likely presence of the Hon’ble Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati and Hon’ble Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. A traffic advisory will also be issued shortly.
As per the tentative programme, the President will arrive at Berhampur Railway Station at around 11.10 a.m. on August 4 and proceed to Taptapani. She is scheduled to offer prayers at Maa Kandhuni Temple at around 3.10 p.m., stay overnight at the Army AD College, and return to Bhubaneswar by train at around 10.20 a.m. on August 5.
The meeting reviewed arrangements relating to sanitation, ceremonial welcome with traditional folk dance performances, security, barricading, temporary and permanent toilets, baggage handling, official passes, ambulance services, parking, fire safety, uninterrupted power supply, network connectivity and removal of temporary road breakers. Separate motorcade arrangements for the Governor and Chief Minister and restricted issuance of passes were also discussed.
Following the meeting, the Collector, along with the Superintendents of Police of Ganjam and Berhampur and other senior officials, inspected Berhampur Railway Station, Taptapani and Dhabaleswar Temple and directed that all works be completed within the stipulated time.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Magistrate Sachidananda Nayak, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Sameer Kumar Jena, Commissioner of Brahmapur Municipal Corporation Akabaram S. Reddy, Sub-Collector, Brahmapur Avinash Kumar, all Additional District Magistrates, Sub-Collectors and district- and field-level officers.
