Political turmoil in Rajasthan

DELHI:It refers to political turmoil now in Rajasthan where Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot as revolted against embarrassing and humiliating tactics of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in sending him notice with others for questioning on alleged efforts to topple the state-government. Now same usual story of Indian political system making MLAs stay in costly hotels and use of chartered planes has started which will ultimately result in fall of state-government.
Such making and unmaking of governments in unethical manner through use of money-power must be stopped through massive and consolidated poll-reforms whereby any MP or MLA resigning in-between from membership of legislative body must be disqualified to contest any election for next six years. Every MP or MLA desiring to contest election for the other legislative body must resign from membership of the earlier legislative body before filing nomination for the other.
Chief Minister, Speaker and Deputy Speaker should be elected simultaneously by secret and compulsory vote through EVMs equipped with VVPAT on nominations signed by at least 34-percent members with abstaining members losing right to vote in the House though retaining membership. Such elected incumbents may be removed through same process but with compulsion to name alternate leader in the same motion. This will make such persons seated on these posts which may be able to get support even from opposition benches.
