Different type of crimes and encountered five persons for their heinous crime dacoity plot, a gang war, lynching, raids with firearms and explosives confiscated.

These coordinated operations target local mafia networks and illegal arms supplies across the city and the broader Ganjam district. Typical operations involve.

Police Said ,During night patrolling on the intervening night of 25/26.05.2026, Bada Bazar PS staff received specific information that a group of anti-social elements had assembled near Ainabandha pond, Talamentu Chhak, Berhampur, to commit dacoity.

Superintendent of Police Dr.Sarvana Vivek,M,IPS said , this is our continuous drive  nothing pre planned rather all action is planned

Acting on the tip-off, the police team raided the isolated spot around 3:30 AM and successfully apprehended five persons who were discussing and preparing to commit dacoity/robbery in old Berhampur village and nearby areas.

Arrested Accused Persons:

1. Shiba Sankar Palei (23 yrs), S/o Bhagaban Palei, Athagadapatna, PS: Kabisurya Nagar.

2. Ashok Behera @ Bangara Ashok (23 yrs), S/o Bhagya Behera, Sriram Nagar, 2nd Line, PS: Badabazar, Berhampur.

3. Omm Das (21 yrs), S/o Kedar Das, Raghupati Nagar, 3rd Line, PS: Bada Bazar, Berhampur

4. N. Prasad Patra (23 yrs), S/o N. Madhav Patra, Ram Nagar, 1st Line, Lanjipalli, PS: Baidyanathpur, Berhampur.

5. Kalia Sahu (22 yrs), S/o Nilanchal Sahu, Ankushpur, PS: Berhampur Sadar,

Seized Items:

* 1 Single Shot Pistol 

* 2 Hero Glamour Motorcycles (one red, one blue) without registration numbers 

* 3 Iron Swords 

* 1 Iron Rod 

* 3 Live Bombs 

* Liquor bottles, chilli powder, torch light and other incriminating articles 

A case has been registered vide Bada-Bazar PS Case No.347/2026 u/s 111/310(4)/310(5) BNS r/w Sec. 25(1)(a), 25(1-B), 25(6) Arms Act r/w Sec. 4 & 5 Explosive Substances Act.
