PM Modi Release  R.18,880 Cr PM-KISAN Instalment For 9.44 Crore Farmers On June 20

New Delhi:Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 23rd instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme on June 20 from Tarakeswar in West Bengal’s Hooghly district, transferring Rs.18,880 crore directly into the bank accounts of over 9.44 crore farmers across the country.

Announcing the programme, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said more than 45.35 lakh farmers in West Bengal will receive around Rs.907 crore under the latest instalment. With the upcoming transfer, the cumulative PM-KISAN disbursement in the state will exceed  Rs15,055 crore, while total payments under the scheme since its launch in 2019 will cross Rs.4.46 lakh crore nationwide.

The funds will be transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), strengthening income support for small and marginal farmers, Chouhan said.

During the visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also launch the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) and the Restructured Weather-Based Crop Insurance Scheme (RWBCIS) in West Bengal with a combined outlay of nearly Rs.12,200 crore.

The initiative aims to provide crop insurance coverage to around 1.10 crore farmers across 30 lakh hectares during 2026-27.

Modi will further unveil an Agri-Tech platform under the Digital Agriculture Mission, enabling integrated access to fertiliser distribution, Kisan Credit Cards, DBT services and MSP-based procurement. He will also launch the National Natural Farming Mission in the state, under which 346 natural farming clusters covering 17,300 hectares will be established, benefiting over 43,000 farmers.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate 49 rural road projects worth more than  Rs.213 crore under PMGSY-III and launch the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana in Purulia, Darjeeling, Alipurduar and Jhargram districts.
