Odisha Police seizure 500 quintals of Ganja in first quarter of 2024
Cuttack , (Odishabarta) Massive drive against Ganja (Marijuana/ Cannabis) in the first Quarter Odisha Police had started a massive drive against Ganja (also known as Marijuana/ cannabis/ Weeds) trafficking during the first quarter of 2024 i.e. 1 st January to 31st March 2024. This has resulted in huge seizure of Ganja (around 500 Quintals) which is one of the highest in the first quarter for any year. The number of cases booked and traffickers arrested are also one of the highest for first quarter. January to March 2024- Total Cases- 425 Total Arrests- 529 Seizure- 49400 Kg (494 Quintals/ 49.4 tons) This is worth to mention that the arrested traffickers include many inter-state kingpins/ masterminds. Various districts/ units of Odisha Police have arrested Ganja traffickers from Maharashtra, Kerala, west Bengal, Bihar, UP etc.
