Odisha CM,Mourns Death of Firs Tribal Lady Pottangi,s Former MLA Chandrama Saunta

Koraput:Odisha chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday mourns the demise of first tribal lady Former MLA Chandrama Saunta of pottangi constituency under koraput district.
Chandrama Saunta passed away at the age of 83 years who died of prolonged illness.
“I am saddened to learn of the death of Chandrama Saunta a former MLA from pottangi constituency work as a public representative will always make her memorable condolence to the bereaved family and to the bereaved Immortal soul ” the CM Twitted.
Koraput MLA and DPC chairman Raghuram Padal, Pritam Padhi, MLA, Pottangi, Jeypore MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati,Ex MLA Prafulla Pangi, Ex -MP Jayaram Pangi, Ex – MP Jhinna Hikaka, Ex-MLA Ramchandra Kadam, Meenakshi Bahinipati, President,District Congress,Former Block chairman,Nandapur, Former municipality chairman, Koraput ,ZP chairman,koraput, Sub -collector Koraput Lalit Kahar, Police Department including all political leaders of Koraput also pay tribute to the Departed Soul.
She was the first tribal lady of undivided Koraput district under pottangi constituency to become two time MLA on a Congress ticket in the general election of Legislative Assembly in 1980 to 90. Late Chandrama Saunta was wife of freedom fighter /Former MLA late Malu Santa in the year 1957 & 1967.
Chandrama Saunta born on May 5th ,1938. Elected in the year 1993 – 2002 as Block chairman,2002 -2007 elected as ZP president under pottangi constituency of Koraput district ,Life time member of Bhudan Aandolan , RTO member, Tribal welfare committee advisor, All India Radio boards advisor, Vigilance congress committee member also worked as Koraput district Congress President.
Her last rituals were performed at her native Sipaiput gram under pottangi block of Koraput district by following covid guidelines.
