NTPC TALCHER THERMAL COMMENCES GEM PROGRAMME 2026 FOR RURAL GIRLS’ EMPOWERMENT
TALCHER :NTPC Talcher Thermal commenced the GEM Programme 2026 on 18 May 2026, a 4 week residential and free CSR initiative aimed at empowering girls through education, life skills, , yoga, sports and personality development activities.
This year, 40 girls from Government Schools of Jagannathpur, Tehranpur, Padiabhanga, Santhapada, Dasnali, Lingrakata, Bantol, Balhar and Kukudola are participating in the programme. To welcome the GEM Girls a colourful programme was organized at Tarangam Hall. Vijay Chand, HOP & Executive Director, ER-II has inaugurated GEM-2026, in august presence of Praveer Kumar, GM (Project), Smt. Vibha Agarwal, Presesident Sagarika Ladies Club, Rohit Kumar AGM (HR) and HODs, Office bearers of Sagarika Ladies Club, and many invitees, Parents of GEM girls and villagers.
On this occasion beautiful Cultural performances were presented by Previous year trained GEM Girls -2025 and students of Government High School, Padiabhanga, DAV Talcher Thermal High School, Godtal College, Santhapada, and DAV Higher Secondary School. All arrangements have been made by NTPC Talcher Thermal for comfortable stay of GEM Girls-2026.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Chand reflected on the impact created through previous editions of GEM and reaffirmed NTPC’s commitment towards the vision of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao. He expressed confidence that the participating girls would contribute towards the vision of Viksit Bharat.
