NTPC KANIHA MANAGEMENT SLEEPS IN OPEN EYES CRORES OF PUBLIC PROPERTIES DESTROY IN FIRE

Today at about 7.30 am morning CISF personnel on duty had seen that heavy smokes surrounded in
unit 3rd running coal supplying conveyer belt set fire, having observed this hazardous situation they
immediately confirmed to their immediate authority regarding the same, but there were no
responsible officers on duty to take immediate steps, so the fire spreads with the running conveyer
belt and heavy fire incident was occurred. If, at the first moment, the running belt was stopped, then
it may not be a big hazard, though not any human beings loss their lives but huge financial loss was
born not only by NTPC management but also an unfulfillment loss towards public as a whole. To
control the fire NTPC, TTPS, JITPL including Odisha State fire team total four fire fighting teams were
deployed to control the heavy fire. It takes seven hours to come on to an end. Really it is not
occurred naturally, to compensate the unethical expenses by the management of NTPC, Kaniha, they
have created a man made occurrence, sources said. The union leaders wanted a judiciary probe
urgently to know the real fact.
It is known to all that NTPC Kaniha is the largest thermal power project is fulfilling the power for
industries throughout India, now the power production is stopped from 3 rd unit in this top summer
which cause a woe in several states including Odisha. Here the NTPC realesed a press note.
It is the first warning to the local contactors deployed in maintenance work, they should take this situation with a serious means, cause due to the negligence of NTPC management authorities, how they will save the lives of their workers should think about.
