NTPC Kaniha Hosts Odisha State-Level Power Plant Safety Workshop

KANIHA, ODISHA — July 29, 2026 — The Directorate of Factories & Boilers, Odisha, in collaboration with the State Labour Institute and supported by NTPC Talcher-Kaniha successfully organized a state-level workshop titled “Leadership Excellence in Power Plant Safety: Preventing Catastrophic Events through Risk-Based Management” at the Deep Tarang Hall at NTPC Kaniha. The event brought together a total of 116 participants, including key administrative leaders, industry executives, and technical experts, to advanced proactive safety strategies and regulatory standards across power generation facilities.

The inaugural session featured addresses by Chief Guest Shri  Indramani Tripathy, IAS (Director of Factories & Boilers, Odisha), Guest of Honour Dr. Malay Kumar Pradhan (Dy. Director of Factories & Boilers, Safety HQRS), and Shri Ajay Singh Yadav (Head of Project, NTPC Talcher-Kaniha).

 Throughout the day, specialized technical sessions led by industry representatives from organizations including BHEL, ISGEC, NTPC, and Unicon Engineers addressed crucial operational topics, including power plant safety, high-pressure boiler design and maintenance, CFBC boiler technologyand upgrading air pollution control equipment to comply with current emission standards.

 The event concluded with an interactive panel discussion and valedictory session aimed at enforcing risk-based management practices to prevent catastrophic industrial incidents.

The program was conducted under supervision of Dr. Ramesh Kumar Behera,  Dy Director of Factories and Boilers,  Anugola Division , Sh. Manoj Kumar Mishra and Sh. Madhab chandra Mallik ,Asst Director of Factories and Boilers , anugola Division.
