NTPC KANIHA CSR SUPPORTS BLOCK-LEVEL SHISHU MAHOTSAV ‘SURAVI 2026’

Kaniha, 13 October 2026: The Block-Level Shishu Mahotsav ‘Suravi 2026’ was held today at Bhaneswari Govt High School, Dereng, with active support of NTPC Talcher-Kaniha under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The programme aimed to provide a platform for school students to showcase their talents, creativity and cultural abilities while promoting the holistic development of children through education.
The programme was graced by Shri Ashok Mohanty, Hon’ble MLA, Pallahada; Shri Ajay Singh Yadav, Head of Project, NTPC Talcher-Kaniha, Shri Tripurari Pradhan, Representative of Hon’ble MP Dhenkanal, Shri Priyaranjan Pradhan, Block Education Officer, Kaniha and other dignitaries.
This year’s Suravi was organised on the theme “Samruddha Bhasha, Samruddha Odisha” (Prosperous Language, Prosperous Odisha), highlighting the importance of Odia language in promoting the rich cultural heritage of Odisha.
Various competitions across 10 events, including debate, essay writing, creative writing, elocution, singing and cultural performances, were held at different levels to encourage students to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and artistic abilities. The block-level programme provides a valuable window of opportunity for talented students of Kaniha block to advance to the district level and then finally to the state-level Suravi Mahotsav to be held in November 2026.
The event witnessed participation of 102 schools across the Kaniha Block, with more than 500 students participating in the event, presence of around 100 teachers and 250 students from the host school, bringing the total number of attendees to approximately 850.
NTPC Talcher-Kaniha continues to give foremost importance to education sector under its community development initiatives in Kaniha block, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing young talent, strengthening educational infrastructure and building strong educational eco systems through its CSR interventions.
