Paralakhemundi-Recent judgement by Supreme Court to carry forward Neredi Project will affect Odisha zone.

Tribunal committee formed by Supreme Court to scrutinize Vanshadhara river vis-a-vis entangle between Odisha & Andhrapradesh(AP),more anguished for Odisha farmers, where AP is evasive on their turn to construct barrage by drudging past woes & weals of farmers of Gajapati & Rayagada districts.

Moreover at Nautala AP government constructed Gotta barage.

Again this judgement made their value addition where 109 acres of Odisha land will be submerged & will make displace for 7 villages of Khandava panchayat of Kashinagar block of Gajapati district.

They will not only deprive their paddy bowl resources but also homesteads.

Such aggravate judgement turned lucrative for Odisha zone,where Kashinagar block is rice bowl of Gajapati district. Said by MLA Paralakhemundi Er. Rupesh Kumar Panigrahi,”Khandava villagers will not leave one inch of their land,as they kind-heartedly appealed before Tribunal Committee who visited Kashinagar years back on 2018 & 2023,but their sympathy for Odisha farmers ridiculous. Rather they will be stigmatized which will turn towards homeless & vacuum lives if this project will be started.”

Villagers eg;Jagannath Dora, Chandrasekhar Dora,Rutpurna Nayak, Dibakar Patra & Himansusekar Sahu said that at Sara village 300 families,at Palsing 60 families & Old Badigaon 40 families will be displaced. Odisha Government will face ultimatum if anything started by AP Government to demolish our domiciles. We will start agitation. “
