Lailai Scared from Drinking Water

Paralakhemundi,25/03/26: At hill top village Lailai of Rayagada block felt crunch on drinking water. Being the panchayat headquarter settled with more than 125 families desist from regular drinking water. 

2 & half decades back through gravity flow connection served 2 lanes of village, where villagers had free labour to excavate such daredevil water supply from 2 kms above village. That could execute regular water supply with 5 tapes in both lanes. Gradually such tiresome efforts could not be restored. Now with old tradition villagers on queue to collect  water from hill  trench to run long 2 kms.Still that water scaled polluted which may invite scorch of water borne diseases. With laments & hazardous situation they are bound to collect scream fetched water also, invite biting of snakes as situated in hilly zone. 

With such jeopardy situation to fill thristy & appetite they are bound by such hectic dependency.Few years back grievances held at Lailai in presence of the then Collector of Gajapati.Despite all attempts callousness found,where neither block nor district administration polarizing their woes & weals. 

Shattered by such grave situation villagers Tapaswini Devi,Rambha Bhuyan,Jaya Bhuyan & Ramesh Sabar echoed their pain that further heat stream will affect more to get minimum quantity requirements.

Though village subjected clean passage road,where 3 defunct tube wells providing dirty water can be replaced.At least administration may feel their tragedy,they requested.
