Gopalpur Police Solve Theft Case, Arrest Two Youths Recover Stolen Construction Equipment

Gopalpur, Sept. 30: Gopalpur Police have solved a theft case involving an under-construction house at Rakhya Bihar and arrested two persons in connection with the case. Police also recovered construction equipment, electrical materials and other articles allegedly stolen from the site.
The arrested persons have been identified as Muna Pradhan (23), and Akhila Pradhan (21), Duo residents of Kadarapalli under Gopalpur Police Station in Ganjam district.
According to police, a case was registered at Gopalpur Police Station on dated September 28, 2026, under Section 303(2) of the BNS, which was subsequently altered to Sections 303(2)/3(5) BNS.
Police said the complainant, Lipta Kumari Sethy (28), wife of Basanta Kumar Sethy of Gounju village, reported the theft from her under-construction house at Rakhya Bihar on September 28.
The theft reportedly took place during the intervening night of September 25 and 26, when construction tools and electrical articles were allegedly stolen from the premises.
During the investigation, police found that the stolen articles had allegedly been kept at the house of accused Muna Pradhan and the Stolen Articles Recovered.
Acting on reliable information, the investigating officer conducted a raid at Muna Pradhan’s house and recovered the stolen articles.
Both accused were arrested on September 29, 2026, at about 8:20 AM and subsequently forwarded to the Hon’ble Court at Brahmapur after completion of the prescribed arrest formalities. Police stated that the grounds of arrest were communicated to the accused in Odia.
