Foundation Stone laid for Court Complexes at Jagannath Prasad and Bhanjanagar

Bhanjanagar,(Ganjam)02.09.2022: For augmentation of the infrastructure facility in the Judiciary of Ganjam Judgeship; on 31st August, 2022, Dr. Justice S. Muralidhar, Hon’ble the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court laid the foundation stone of the Civil Court complexes at Jagannath Prasad and Bhanjanagar in august presence of Dr. Justice B. R. Sarangi, Judge, Orissa High Court and Chairman of High Court’s Building Committee for Subordinate Courts all over Orissa & the Administrative Judge of Ganjam Judgeship.

The proposed Court Complex at Jagannath Prasad will be developed on Ac.3.179 decimals of land located at Lankagada at an estimated cost of rupees Four Crores & ninety-eight Lakh while the proposed Court Complex at Bhanjanagar will be developed on 05 acres of land located by the side of Byaghradevi Road, Bhanjanagar at an estimated cost of Forty-three Crores & 22 Lakhs.

After laying down of the foundation stones, the Hon’ble Justice had also a brief discussion with the Engineers of the executing department(s) regarding smooth execution of the works as per the approved plan. Tender process for both the Court complexes is in progress. The Hon’ble Chief Justice after laying the foundation stone while addressing a gathering, suggested that the execution of the works should be made in a futuristic manner.

While addressing the gathering at Jagannath Prasad and Bhanjanagar, Hon’ble the Chief Justice expressed that the time has come where the judiciary should provide 24 hours emergency services like Railways and other Government emergency organisations and expected that if the co-operation of the District Administration, Police and Government will continue, the Judiciary of Odisha will reach a new height and will become the No.1 Judiciary in India. Hon’ble Dr. Justice B.R. Sarangi in his address specifically mentioned that being the Chairman of the Building Committee of the Sub-ordinate Courts of Odisha, he has been tirelessly working to ensure adequate infrastructure and modern Court complexes in every District and Taluk for the Judicial Officers, Lawyers, Staff and litigants.

Besides, a Court of Civil Judge-cum-JMFC has also been inaugurated at Jagannath Prasad by Hon’ble the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court today itself in august presence of the Hon’ble Administrative Judge of Ganjam Judgeship.

On the occasion, Shri Akhil Kumar Paschimakabat, Registrar (Vigilance), Orissa High Court, Shri Ananda Chandra Behera, the District & Sessions Judge, Ganjam, Berhampur; Shri Dibyajyoti Parida, the Collector & District Magistrate, Ganjam; Dr. Brijesh Ray, Superintendent of Police, Ganjam, Chatrapur, Shri Sushanta Kumar Mishra, Registrar, Civil & Session Courts, Berhampur along with all other Judicial Officers of Ganjam Judgeship so also other dignitaries of the District of Ganjam were present.

The Ghumusara Bar Association, Bhanjanagar has organized the inaugural ceremonies at both the places in presence of their Members so also the stakeholder of other Bar Associations of Ganjam Judgeship.
