Berhampur,29/06/2023:In a terrific incident, two people were reportedly murdered near Mahuda village under Digapahandi police limit in Berhampur Police district yesterday.
The deceased persons have been identified as Shiba Gouda and Liti Gouda of Mahuda village.
The shocking incident has spread and shockwaves in the area with terrified locals flee the village.
The identified deceased duo as Siba and Litu, are best friends.The matter came to the fore after their burnt bodies were recovered from the bushes near the village.
On such heinous brutal Murder, on being alerted, many senior,DSPs’ Inspectors of police including ASP rushed to the village Mahuda and launched a manhunt to nab the accused. The bodies have been recovered and will be sent for autopsy, reports said.
A preliminary probe revealed the two friends were in the tractor business. They had gone to collect their borrowed money. However, sources said the two youths broke out in a fight with a few villagers following which they were beaten to death and have also set their motorbike on fire.
Reacting on the incident, Berhampur SP said, when “I received information that two bodies were set on fire at last night immediately I interacted with IIC, Digapahandi and SDPO,Chikiti and took the stock of the incident”. Soon after the confirmation of the mishap I along with a scientific team arrived at the village and launched a probe into the incident in all corners.
Speaking to scribe the SP,said,In this connection “We have detained 15 suspects of the village until further probe. Interrogation is on and the accused will be taken into task very soon,”
They are hardcore Criminal and created Havoc in Village as regular practice.There were a couple of criminal cases pending against the two deceased in Digaphandi police station. Locals are claiming that they were anti-socials,he added.
