Divyangs of OVM hold sensitisation conference on the eve of Seva week, PM Modi’s birthday

Rayagada, September 18: More than two hundreds of differentially abled persons from Kashipur assembled in Kashipur Block Conference Hall and got sensitized regarding the rights and responsibilities enshrined in RPWD Act-2016. They also took oath not to consume liquor. The oath was administered by Additional District Magistrate Rabindranath Kanhar. The august gathering celebrated the birthday of PM Modi and vowed to continue with some kind of social service during Seva Week.
The celebration and sensitization workshop was graced by SSSO Srikanta Panigrahi, BSSO, BDO Kashipur, SAKSHAM Sangrakhyak Dr. Badal kumar Tah, Odisha Vikalang Manch(OVM) Dist President Rakesh Himirika, Vice president Santosh Mohapatra, Secretary Jalandhar Bachheli, Odisha Adibasi Manch State Convenor & Dist President Dakshin Odisha Unnayan O Surakhya Parishad Bidulata Huika, MP & MLA representatives, Block Chairman Kantha Majhi, Divyang Mitra Sibaram Nayak and several other dignitaries.
Himirika shared with the gathering about the evolution of OVM and Vice-president Mohapatra briefly told about objectives of the conference. The MLA representative Jhiyuru Majhi, MP Representative Sandu Charan Majhi & Block Chairman Kantha Majhi emphasized on the rights of PWDs and building self confidence. Bidulata Huika deliberated about Divyang children & women rights. She told about a sponsorship scheme of GOI where a child of Divyang parents can avail Rs.4000 per month for continuing his school education. She made it possible for hundreds of such cases when she officiated as CWC chairman. Srikanta Panigrahi elaborated on government schemes meant for divyangs. Specific achievements in Rayagada district were projected by him. ADM Kanhar, as Chief Guest, told that in spite of gamut of scheme and programmes and historic RPWD Act-2016, there are still space to act upon. He assured all the Divyang participants to have review of all the schemes for PWDs and instructed SSSO to do the needful within next 15 days. All the coveted guests were felicitated by the Divyang participants.
Bacheli was instrumental in making the entire programme successful. Divyang Mahasangha Kashipur Block President Sushanta Naik, Bhingu Naik, Pradeep Naik, Jagannath Majhi, Upendra Naik, and Pradhan Muduli assisted to make the program successful. Other attending guests were Block Social Security Officer Ramakanta Nundruka and Divyang Mitra Shibaram Naik. Additionally, Padmalochan Majhi and Paika Majhi, activists from Kashipur block community organization Jana Jagarana Mancha extended their full cooperation.
