DEAD BODY CARRIED BY KIN FOR FIVE K.M. IN KALAHANDI (!)

KALAHANDI :Dead body of a lady patient under treatment was  carried by kin towards native for cremation in Kalahandi from the District Headquarter Hospital after allegedly denied for a hearse by the hospital authority.

As per sources Kuni Naik (20) the wife of Rasanand Naik belongs to Barpali village under Bengaon GP of Bijepur Police limit was admitted in the District Headquarter Hospital at Bhawanipatna at about 3.15 PM on 01.01.2020 and died under treatment at about 7.45 PM on the same day.

Rasanand and his family members requested to the Hospital authority for a hearse van to take the dead body to their native for cremation but it is alleged by the family that despite their several requests they did not get the hearse for the purpose. As there was no alternatives and they have to take the dead body to their native for cremation the family members with Rasanand carried the deadbody on their shoulder and walked towards their village.

After going through the town while they reached 5 K.M. away Laxmipur village the Bhawanipatna Sub Collector, Town PS IIC and Medical staff  reached there and requested them to avail the ambulance for the purpose to which they refused to avail as they have covered such a distance on walking.

While the Hospital help desk could not contact one of the hearse driver  while another denied to go to Barpali village near Mushanal as the said area is left wings affected, sources says.

As told by CDMO that while she came to know the matter she arranged an ambulance for the purpose to which the deceased family denied to avail (?) subject to inquiry.

Kalahandi Collector told for the prove the entire episode The District Head quarter Hospital was awarded for its better health services as well as  5T Secretary had a visit to it and it comes under “Mo Sarkar  Yojana” but the incidents raised doubts on the implementation of the much-hyped initiatives in the District Head quarter Hospital at Bhawanipatna.
