Cyber Police Station recovers over 94 Smartphone’s, so far  & 475 mobile phones  and the  recovered  Phones  over to Citizens who lost or misplaced their Phones  this year  only.

Berhampur,(13/96/26); In a open air Special event organised at the  premises of District Police Office, Berhampur, the function was chaired by  Superintendent of Police, Berhampur, Dr.Sarvana Vivek.M,IPS .

The SP.  Handed over 61 smart phones, including i-Phones, to the rightful owners.

Such Nobel initiation  being organised by Berhampur Police for the first time in Southern range and the looser could not believe that they all will get the phone one Day(!!) .

Reacting before the Media we are surprised true or miracle (?) that police will call us to collect our lost mobile phone (!) all have complimented to police with a single word our Berhampur Police really working.

These devices form part of 94 smart phones recovered by the Cyber Police Station, Berhampur. The remaining 33 smart phones are being handed over to their rightful owners through courier or personal contact.

These work is being done through Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal.

The Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) is a centralized database for tracking mobile devices using their International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) numbers. Its primary role is to block stolen or lost phones across all telecom networks, deter mobile theft, eliminate counterfeit devices, and assist law enforcement agencies in recovering hardware.

Special Recovery Drive

A large number of mobile-related complaints were received at the Office of the Superintendent of Police and the Cyber Police Station, Berhampur, earlier this year. Acting on the directions of the Superintendent of Police, Berhampur, the Cyber Police Station launched a special recovery drive from May 2026 to July 2026.

The dedicated recovery team comprised:

– Constable No. 265 Rajendra Kumar Behera 

– Constable No. 777 Santosh Kumar Jena

– Constable No. 953 D. Gouda 

The Cyber Police team used advanced tracking techniques and coordinated closely with mobile service providers and other external agencies to trace and recover the devices.

Year-to-Date Progress

So far in this year, 475 mobile phones have been successfully recovered by the Cyber Police team.

Complaint Registration Procedure

To register a complaint, citizens are requested to send the following details and documents via the above WhatsApp number or email:

– Identity Proof (Aadhaar Card) 

– Original Mobile Purchase Bill 

– Photograph of the Mobile Phone Box (showing IMEI details) 

– Date of the incident (when the phone was lost) 

– Exact location where the mobile went missing 

– Alternate contact number 

– Name of the nearest Police Station 

The dedicated team at the Cyber Police Station continuously monitors complaints and works in close coordination with local Police Stations to carry out efficient recovery operations.
