Badabazar Police arrests sccused in Gold Theft Case; 40 g seized molten gold returned to Owner

Berhampur,(08/06.2026):Badabazar Police has arrested K Simanchal Achary (35 years), son of K Kamaswara Achary of Kuthari Mandira Sahi, Berhampur, in a gold theft case.

 Following the arrest, authorities recovered approximately 40g of molten gold that was illicitly melted from the stolen ornaments. Law enforcement officially returned this seized gold to its rightful owner, closing the case/

On 11.05.2026, the accused, an employee at the gold and silver repairing shop of complainant B Srinivas Rao at Chandrama Sahi, allegedly stole approximately 45 grams of gold while the owner was away for lunch. The accused absconded after the incident. Badabazar PS Case No. 303/2026 under Section 316(5) BNS was registered on 12.05.2026.

During investigation, statements were recorded and the spot was examined. 40.030 grams of 21.91 karat gold was seized from the exclusive possession of the accused. The seized gold has been returned to the rightful owner (complainant).

The accused was arrested on 07.06.2026 at 5:00 PM after following due legal process and guidelines of the Hon’ble Supreme Court. He was produced before the Hon’ble SDJM, Berhampur after medical examination. Further investigation is in progres
