Antaryami Behera, Ex- Block Education Officer convicted by Vigilance Court

Rayagada, (Dr. Badal Tah): Antaryami Behera, Ex- Block Education Officer (BEO), Gunupur, Dist-Rayagada (Retired), who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in Koraput Vigilance PS Case No.4 dt.01.03.2022 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 for demanding and accepting bribe amounting Rs.10,000/- from a  Retired Teacher in order to send his Service Book to Controller of Accounts, Bhubaneswar for release of his pending dues, was convicted by Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 years and fine of Rs.10,000/- and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 months more for the offence U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018.

Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of Behera, following his conviction.
