Illegal Possession of Sandalwood Seized by STF,Odisha

BHUBANESWAR: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch nabbed three sandalwood smugglers and seized a huge quantity of the aromatic wood worth Rs 70 lakh from Dalajodi forest under Tangi police limits in Cuttack last evening.

Acting on a tip-off, the STF detected a case of illegal possession and deal of sandalwood by the smugglers and raided the place. The cops seized sandalwood weighing 4.60 quintal and other incriminating articles and arrested three persons namely  Hemanta Chatios,Dandapani Das of Krushnaprasad, and Kanhu Charan Bhoi of Village Patalsingha.
